
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah approved a Rs13 billion grant for Karachi road rehabilitation. The decision focuses on restoring key city roads. The approval came during a meeting on urban infrastructure.
The meeting reviewed widespread damage to Karachi’s road network. Mayor Karachi told officials that 409 roads were in poor condition. He highlighted traffic problems and safety risks for commuters.

Meanwhile, Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah presented the repair plan. Around 400 roads in seven districts will receive patchwork repairs. In addition, nine major roads will be fully reconstructed.
He said road, sewerage, and water supply projects will cost Rs12.57 billion. The chief minister also approved Rs21.53 billion for broader infrastructure improvement. Funding was approved for 24 Town Municipal Corporations.

Murad Ali Shah said public convenience and safety are top priorities. He directed KMC to rehabilitate 26 major roads on an urgent basis. He also ordered transparent work and immediate release of funds.
