Lahore: A 25-year-old man was injured when a hanging kite string and wires struck him in a factory area, police said. The victim, identified as Adnan from Walton, was immediately taken to the General Hospital for treatment.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran took notice of the incident and ordered the SP Cantt to submit a detailed report. He directed strict legal action against those responsible for creating unsafe conditions. Authorities are reviewing the incident from multiple angles.
Officials said that hanging wires and kite strings are being removed with the help of district administration. The DIG reminded citizens of the government’s zero-tolerance policy on violations of Punjab’s Basant SOPs.

This month alone, police have seized over 40,000 kites, strings, and reels. More than 300 cases have been registered, and numerous arrests made, according to Faisal Kamran. The department has emphasized enforcement even before the official Basant dates.
The DIG also urged motorcyclists and the public to use safety wires to prevent accidents. Citizens were reminded that the administration continues its crackdown on illegal kite flying to ensure public safety.
