The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that its team will not travel to India for the T20 World Cup. The decision comes amid ongoing security concerns and unresolved issues with the Indian authorities. Officials said the board’s position will not change.
Bangladesh Sports Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul met with players before announcing the decision. He said the team still wants to play the World Cup, but only if their safety can be guaranteed. He added that the Indian government made no serious effort to address Bangladesh’s concerns.

Dr. Nazrul emphasized that the government fully supports the World Cup boycott. He suggested that matches should instead be played in Sri Lanka under a hybrid model. Players reportedly agreed with the board’s position and feel confident in the decision.
BCB President Aminul Islam said the board will continue to pursue the matter with the International Cricket Council (ICC). He stated that Bangladesh has the right to request a venue change and is determined to protect its players.
