
UK-based Menzies Aviation has expressed strong interest in expanding its operations in Pakistan. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met Menzies Chairperson Hassan El Houry at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Discussions focused on improving airport services, operational efficiency, and investment opportunities aligned with Pakistan’s privatisation agenda.
Aurangzeb briefed El Houry on plans to privatise Pakistan International Airlines and outsource operations at Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore airports. He highlighted Pakistan’s improving economy and a favorable environment for private investment. Menzies identified Sialkot as a strategic hub for aviation and logistics.

Both sides discussed enhancing airport service quality and passenger experience. Menzies, which operates at over 350 airports in 60 countries, expressed interest in deepening its engagement and investment in Pakistan. The meeting ended positively, emphasizing stronger partnerships and economic collaboration.
Aurangzeb also met Asian Development Bank President Masato Kanda to review reforms and private sector initiatives. Kanda praised Pakistan’s progress, reaffirmed ADB support, and highlighted cooperation in energy and sustainable growth projects.
