Gul Plaza fire: World mourns Karachi tragedy

Iran, France, and the United Kingdom expressed deep grief over the gul plaza fire in Karachi. The tragic blaze killed at least 14 people, including a woman, and left 73 missing. Diplomatic missions highlighted their support for families, the injured, and the rescue teams working tirelessly at the scene.

Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam said his thoughts and prayers are with the families who lost loved ones. He also wished safe and speedy recovery for the injured and praised the bravery of police and rescue teams.

The French embassy condemned the incident and expressed sorrow over the loss of lives. France extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and reaffirmed its solidarity with the Pakistani people during this crisis.

British High Commissioner Jane Marriott described herself as heartbroken over the tragedy. She sent sympathies to victims’ families, the injured, and those awaiting news of missing relatives. She also commended the rescue teams for their ongoing efforts under difficult conditions.

Authorities continue rescue operations at the plaza, removing debris and searching for survivors. Officials also plan to investigate the cause of the fire.
