
Schools across Punjab reopened on Monday after a 30-day winter break, bringing students back to classrooms as academic activities officially resumed across public and private institutions province-wide.
The winter holidays began on December 20 and offered students an extended pause from studies, while schools used the period to prepare for a smooth restart of academic schedules.

According to the new directive, government schools will now operate from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, while Friday timings will end earlier at 12:15 pm.
These revised school hours will remain effective from January 19 until April 15, 2026, ensuring a consistent routine during the remaining winter-to-spring academic period.

Meanwhile, the Education Department has also directed teachers to attend Continuous Professional Development sessions alongside curriculum preparation to strengthen teaching quality and classroom effectiveness. Through these measures, authorities aim to improve learning outcomes, support teacher growth, and ensure that students regain academic momentum after the long winter recess.
