PM expresses grief over Karachi Gul plaza fire; order immediate relief

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the deadly fire at Gul Plaza on MA Jinnah Road in Karachi, calling the incident tragic and deeply distressing. He emphasized that protecting citizens’ lives and property remains the government’s highest priority. Moreover, he said the state stands shoulder to shoulder with affected families. As a result, federal authorities moved swiftly.

The prime minister directed hospitals to provide immediate and best possible medical care to all injured victims without delay. He also ordered departments to speed up rescue and relief operations at the site. Furthermore, he stressed that coordination among agencies must remain uninterrupted until operations conclude. Therefore, emergency teams stayed on high alert.

In addition, Shehbaz Sharif instructed officials to ensure maximum relief for traders and other victims who suffered heavy losses. He underlined that financial damage and human suffering must be addressed together. Meanwhile, he offered prayers for the deceased and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. Consequently, relief planning expanded beyond rescue.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also conveyed grief over the loss of precious lives in the Gul Plaza blaze. He assured families that the federal government would not abandon them during this painful time. At the same time, he urged rescue agencies to maintain momentum. Thus, political leadership presented a united response.

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon described the fire as extremely unfortunate and confirmed government machinery had remained active since night. He said water and foam supplies faced no shortages during operations. However, he announced a fact-finding report to identify negligence. Ultimately, authorities promised accountability and corrective action.
