Additionally, new petrol pumps will now require electric vehicle (EV) charging units to receive approval. Authorities have made the installation of EV chargers a mandatory condition for issuing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to fuel stations.
So far, NOCs for 170 new petrol pumps have been approved via the E-Biz portal, covering 31 cities. This includes major cities like Faisalabad, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Khanewal, and Bahawalnagar, ensuring EV infrastructure expansion.
The government emphasized that promoting green energy is essential to protect the environment, and a dedicated electric vehicle policy for Punjab will be introduced soon to further support sustainable transport initiatives.
