Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of six police officials, including a station house officer, in a bomb blast in district Tank.
In a statement, the Chief Minister Punjab extended heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families and prayed for strength and patience for them in this difficult time.
She strongly condemned the bomb blast in Tank district and said such cowardly acts cannot weaken the resolve of the state against terrorism.
The Chief Minister Punjab reiterated solidarity with the families of the martyrs and paid tribute to the sacrifices of police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty to protect the nation.
Separately, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has paid tribute to the security forces for neutralising eight Indian-backed terrorists in Bannu and other areas.
In a statement, the Chief Minister Punjab appreciated the professionalism and bravery of the security personnel for thwarting terrorist plans and safeguarding lives. She expressed gratitude to the forces for their timely and effective action against militancy.
The Chief Minister Punjab said the complete elimination of terrorism remains the government’s unwavering resolve, adding that the nation stands united against all forms of extremism.
She further remarked that the brave soldiers of the armed forces do not hesitate to lay down their lives for the country and the nation.
Moreover, Maryam Nawaz has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Test cricketer Mohammad Ilyas. In a statement, the chief minister extended heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family during this time of loss.
She paid tribute to the late Mohammad Ilyas for his services to Pakistan cricket, saying his contributions to the sport will be remembered with respect. The chief minister prayed for the departed soul and for patience and strength for the bereaved family.
