
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the addition of new PSL teams will boost grassroots cricket and foreign investment. He met representatives of the winning firms in Islamabad. He called the league’s expansion a major milestone for Pakistan cricket.
The prime minister congratulated the owners of the Sialkot and Hyderabad franchises. He said the new teams would raise the PSL’s popularity and competitiveness. Moreover, he described the expansion as a positive change for fans and players.

He praised PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the board’s management for a transparent bidding process. The prime minister noted the auction was broadcast live on television. As a result, he said it showed strong governance in Pakistan’s sports system.
Shehbaz Sharif said the new teams will promote cricket at the grassroots level. He added that expansion creates more opportunities for young and emerging players. Therefore, the move will strengthen the national cricket talent pipeline.
