HBO Max thanks Pittsburgh medical staff ahead of The Pitt season 2

HBO Max and Warner Bros. TV showed appreciation for Pittsburgh’s real-life medical heroes ahead of the second season of their hit drama The Pitt. On January 6, staff at Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) were treated to coffee, pastries, and sandwiches, celebrating the doctors and nurses who inspired the show.

The Instagram post from the hospital shared images of smiling staff enjoying the treats, with a caption noting, “The emergency department at AHN Allegheny General Hospital is fueling up for the season 2 premiere of the Max Original series #ThePitt on January 8 at 9 pm EST!” The gesture highlighted the ongoing partnership between the production and AGH.

Dr. Brent Rau, AGH’s emergency department director, praised the show’s accuracy and emotional depth, saying it captures not only medical procedures but also the human side of care. Staff members echoed his sentiments, appreciating how the series shines a spotlight on their dedication. Leeanne Hum said, “Noah Wyle and the whole cast…bring a lot of light to the show and to our amazing city and the hospital.”

The Pitt, starring Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, won Best Drama Series at the 2025 Emmys after 13 nominations. Other returning stars include Shawn Hatosy, Katherine LaNasa, Taylor Dearden, and Fiona Dourif, alongside newcomers Sepideh Moafi, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez, and Alexandra Metz.

AGH president Dr. Imran Qadeer said the hospital is proud to host the production team again, emphasizing that the show highlights the life-changing impact of healthcare professionals on patients, families, and communities. The second season, consisting of 15 episodes, will follow a 15-hour emergency department shift on July 4 and premieres on January 8 on HBO Max, with new episodes released weekly until April 16.
