
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced a Rs95 billion development package for Karachi. He approved a Karachi Transformation Plan during a high-level meeting. The plan aims to deliver world-class infrastructure through partnerships with FWO.
The chief minister said development projects will ensure quality, speed, and transparency. He announced a one-time grant of Rs84.796 billion for 523 schemes. Additionally, Rs26.282 billion was approved under the federal PSDP for Karachi projects.

Moreover, the government identified six priority infrastructure projects worth Rs10.72 billion. These projects target traffic congestion, connectivity issues, and urban mobility. Major roads, underpasses, and flyovers will be constructed or rehabilitated.

Meanwhile, officials highlighted Karachi’s structural and civic challenges as Pakistan’s economic hub. Authorities proposed 10 to 12 high-visibility schemes for early execution. The projects include road rehabilitation, traffic management, parks, and city beautification.

The chief minister directed departments to finalise designs by February. Construction work is expected to begin in March with FWO support. Separately, the mayor inaugurated a Rs56 million road project in Keamari.
