The development comes shortly after Faiz Hameed, who served as DG ISI, was sentenced in December 2025 to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment. Hameed was convicted on multiple charges, including engaging in political activities, violating the Official Secrets Act, misuse of authority, and causing wrongful loss, following a Field General Court Martial process that began on August 12, 2024.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Hameed’s trial lasted over 15 months, and he was found guilty on all charges. The ISPR statement noted that the proceedings involved four major counts, all related to compromising the safety and interests of the state and misusing official authority.
