Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has said that history cannot be altered through false, hateful statements and cheap slogans on social media.
In a statement, he said that the Pakistan Peoples Party has never been oblivious to the problems of Karachi and is not so today. He added that issues such as water supply, sewage, roads, and infrastructure are the result of decades of negligence by previous so-called city governments.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the Pakistan Peoples Party is the only party healing the wounds of the people through practical measures. He said that projects such as K-4, solid waste management, bus services, and major development initiatives are proof of the government’s continuous efforts. He said that the Sindh government has always believed in the fair distribution of resources, adding that Karachi’s revenue is being invested in Karachi.
He further stated that Sindh’s government hospitals are not only providing modern facilities but are also becoming a model for other provinces. He further said that the Pakistan Peoples Party has always prioritized the strength of the federation, provincial autonomy, and public welfare. He added that the conscious people of Sindh know who is serving them and who is merely concealing their failures through rhetorical politics.
Karachi mayor restores Hassan Ali Hoti Market’s historic glory
Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab alongwith Minister of Culture and Tourism Sindh Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah here on Saturday inaugurated the historic Hassan Ali Hoti Market with renewed grandeur on the completion of its 100 years.
Addressing the ceremony, he said, “Today we are present at the historic Hassan Ali Hoti Market, which has completed a century. This is not merely a commercial center, but a symbol of Karachi’s historic identity and the urban heritage of the British era.” He said that the market, established a hundred years ago, had been neglected over time, encroachments had taken place and its original beauty had faded. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) took the initiative to preserve this historic heritage. “The renovation and restoration have been carried out in a manner that retains the market’s original character. Platforms were removed, encroachments were cleared, and modern facilities were provided so that the business community could benefit from an improved environment,” he added.
