Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has addressed speculation surrounding the name of his lifestyle brand ARKS, clarifying that it has no connection to his wife Alia Bhatt or their daughter Raha Kapoor.
The actor shared the clarification in a video posted on the official Instagram and YouTube pages of ARKS, where he offered fans a behind-the-scenes tour of the brand’s manufacturing facility and spoke about its journey since launch.

“You know, it just had different meanings to it,” Ranbir said, describing the early brainstorming process behind the brand’s identity. He explained that the idea initially emerged around launching sneakers under his name, which led to multiple interpretations, including the concept of a “Ranbir Kapoor studio.”
The 42-year-old actor added that over time, he realised the brand name did not need a fixed or literal meaning. According to Ranbir, the name simply felt right once the team finalised the logo and overall aesthetic of the brand.
“When we heard the name ARKS, when we saw this logo, everything just came together,” he said, emphasising that the decision was based more on instinct and creative alignment than symbolism.
Ranbir also revealed that the manufacturing unit currently used by ARKS previously belonged to his brother-in-law, Bharat Sahni, adding a personal yet practical dimension to the brand’s foundation.
