According to officials, a CCD Kotwali team was escorting Faizan Boxer to Sheikhupura for identification in connection with multiple criminal cases. During the transfer, his accomplices allegedly ambushed the police party in an attempt to free him from custody.

Police said the attackers opened fire on the convoy, prompting CCD personnel to return fire in self-defence. During the exchange of gunfire, Faizan Boxer was reportedly struck by bullets fired by his own associates and died on the spot.
Authorities confirmed that no CCD officials were injured in the incident. Police said weapons were recovered from the scene, and a search operation was launched in the surrounding area to apprehend the fleeing attackers.
Faizan Boxer was described by law enforcement officials as a hardened criminal linked to the Lahore underworld. He was wanted in several serious cases, including murder, robbery, armed assault, and other violent crimes across different parts of the city.
The incident follows a similar high-profile case in October 2025, when Khawaja Tareef Gulshan, also known as Teefi Butt, was killed in an alleged CCD encounter in Punjab. Police claimed he too was shot by his accomplices during an attack on a police convoy.

Teefi Butt had been extradited from Dubai a day earlier and was being transported to Lahore when the incident occurred near Kot Sabzal in Rahim Yar Khan district. He was a prime suspect in the murder of Ameer Balaj, which took place near Thokar Niaz Beg in February 2024.
Punjab Police officials say such operations are part of an ongoing crackdown against organised crime networks. They maintain that strict action will continue against criminals involved in violence, extortion, and targeted killings across the province.
