The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has convened separate meetings to consider the permanent appointment of additional judges of the Sindh High Court and the Peshawar High Court.
According to sources, a meeting of the Judicial Commission will be held on January 13 at 1:30 pm under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi to deliberate on the confirmation of 12 additional judges of the Sindh High Court.
The commission will consider the permanent appointment of Justice Miran Muhammad Shah, Justice Tasleem Sultana, and Justice Riazat Ali Sahar. It will also review the confirmation of Justice Muhammad Hassan Akbar, Justice Khalid Hussain Shahani, and Justice Abdul Hameed Bhurgri.
In addition, the permanent appointment of Justice Syed Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Shah, Justice Jan Ali Junejo, and Justice Nasir Ahmed Bhambhro will be discussed, along with Justice Ali Haider Ada, Justice Usman Ali, and Justice Muhammad Jafar Raza.
The meeting will also consider an extension in the tenure of constitutional benches of the Sindh High Court.
Meanwhile, another meeting of the Judicial Commission has been summoned to consider the permanent appointment of 10 additional judges of the Peshawar High Court. This meeting will be held on January 14 at 1:30 pm at the Supreme Court, under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The commission will deliberate on the confirmation of Justice Muhammad Tariq Afridi, Justice Abdul Fayaz, and Justice Farah Jamshed, as well as Justice Inamullah Khan, Justice Sabitullah, and Justice Salahuddin.
It will also consider the permanent appointment of Justice Sadiq Ali, Justice Mudassir Ameer, Justice Aurangzeb, and Justice Qazi Jawad Ehsanullah.
