The 45-year-old outlined three strict rules for fans. He said people should never approach him while he is sitting at a dinner table, should not interrupt him when he is spending time with his children, and should absolutely not follow him into the bathroom. Culkin stressed that these boundaries are non-negotiable.
Reflecting on his long career, Culkin admitted he still has to mentally prepare himself before going out in public. He described the experience of becoming famous as a child as “tricky waters to maneuver,” explaining that he lacked the emotional tools at a young age to fully process sudden superstardom.
The actor also revisited his decision to step away from Hollywood for nearly a decade during his teenage years. He said he wanted to experience a more normal life after achieving success so early, adding that he felt he had already made his mark and earned financial security.

Although Culkin has returned to selective projects, he insists he is “technically retired.” He recently voiced a character in the upcoming Zootopia 2 and appeared in season two of Prime Video’s Fallout, but joked that every new role feels like a temporary return before retiring again.
Culkin shares two children with actress Brenda Song: Dakota, aged four, and Carson, aged three. He emphasized that family time remains a top priority, which is why he expects fans to respect his personal space when he is with his children.
