England named injured fast bowler Jofra Archer in its provisional T20 World Cup squad on Tuesday. The decision comes despite a left side strain that ruled him out of the final two Ashes Tests. The tournament will begin on February 7 in India and Sri Lanka.
However, Archer will miss the warm-up tour of Sri Lanka as he continues rehabilitation. The injury occurred during the third Ashes Test in Adelaide earlier this month. England remains hopeful he will recover in time for the World Cup.
