Traffic plan issued for New Year night in Murree
The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Murree, Imran Razaq, on Monday has issued a coordinated traffic plan ahead of the New Year night, aiming to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety in the hill resort. According to a spokesperson for the Murree Traffic Police, traffic wardens’ leaves had been canceled and special squads deployed throughout Murree to enforce traffic regulations. Mall Road would remain completely closed to all types of traffic.
“Strict action will be taken against underage drivers, motorcyclists riding without helmets or number plates, and those performing stunts such as one-wheeling or using silencers. Vehicles with tinted or blackened windows will also face enforcement measures to prevent untoward incidents,” the spokesperson said. He emphasized that the traffic police were working to provide maximum convenience to residents and tourists.
