The Portuguese forward, who currently plays for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, scored twice on Saturday to take his career tally to 956 goals for club and country. At the age of 40, Ronaldo indicated that he plans to continue playing for at least one or two more years, making the historic landmark appear increasingly within reach.

Speaking after receiving the award for the second consecutive year, Ronaldo acknowledged the physical challenges of continuing at the highest level but stressed that his motivation remains intact. He said that despite the demands of the game, his love for football continues to drive him forward.
“It’s hard to continue playing, but I am motivated,” Ronaldo said. “My passion is high and I want to continue. It doesn’t matter where I play, whether in the Middle East or Europe. I always enjoy playing football and I want to keep going.”
Ronaldo added that individual records are important, but his ambition extends beyond personal achievements. He reiterated his desire to win trophies with his team while continuing to add to his goal tally.
“You know what my goal is. I want to win trophies and I want to reach that number that you all know,” he said. “I will reach the number for sure, if no injuries.”
Since joining Al-Nassr, Ronaldo has remained a key figure in Saudi football, contributing goals, experience and global attention to the league. His performances have also helped raise the profile of football in the Middle East, a contribution recognised by the Globe Soccer Awards.
