The announcement comes weeks after former owner Ali Tareen confirmed his exit from the franchise, citing strained relations with the cricket board. As a result, PCB stepped in to prevent disruption ahead of the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Naqvi revealed that the board wants to advance the PSL 11 start date to March 23, subject to final approval after consultations with all franchises. He emphasised better scheduling and fan engagement as key reasons.

With expansion plans underway, PSL will grow from six to eight teams for the first time in seven years. Officials believe the changes will boost competition, commercial value, and long-term sustainability of the league.
