Maryam Nawaz satisfied over peaceful Christmas celebrations

Published on: December 27, 2025 1:51 AM

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that all minorities in Punjab feel safe and secure, terming the peaceful celebration of Christmas by the Christian community across the province a source of satisfaction.

Expressing contentment over comprehensive security and administrative arrangements for Christmas festivities, the Chief Minister lauded the provincial administration and police for ensuring a peaceful environment and commended their efforts. “Today, every minority in Punjab feels protected. Safeguarding minorities and ensuring equal rights for all citizens is the hallmark of our good governance,” she said. The Chief Minister added that people across Pakistan shared the joy of the Christian community during Christmas, contrasting this with incidents of extremist attacks on Christmas celebrations in India.

Reiterating the provincial government’s commitment to religious harmony inclusively and equal citizenship, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said Punjab remains a safe and welcoming home for people of all faiths.

Separately, Maryam Nawaz Sharif warmly welcomed the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on his visit to Pakistan, describing it as a moment of pride and a significant step towards further strengthening bilateral relations.

Extending greetings on behalf of the people of Punjab, the Chief Minister said that Pakistan-UAE relations are enduring, exemplary, and founded on mutual trust, respect, and brotherhood. She termed President Al Nahyan’s first official visit to Pakistan as a matter of honor for the country.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed confidence that the UAE President’s visit would further deepen cooperation between the two nations and open new avenues for partnership across multiple sectors.

She reaffirmed Pakistan’s appreciation for the UAE’s longstanding support and emphasized the shared commitment of both countries to enhancing mutual ties and promoting regional stability.
