Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Syed Mohsen Gilani held a productive and forward-looking meeting with Tsuneyasu Miyamoto, President of the Japan Football Association (JFA), to explore avenues for closer collaboration between Pakistan and Japan in football.

During the meeting, JFA President Miyamoto congratulated Gilani on his successful election as PFF President and expressed a strong desire to foster deep footballing ties between the two countries. The discussion focused on key areas such as youth football development, women’s football, and coach education, aiming to build a sustainable football ecosystem in Pakistan. Yosuke Mihara, General Secretary of the East Asian Football Federation and Director of International Relations at JFA, was also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Gilani highlighted his ambitious vision for Pakistan football. “I am keen and eager to take Pakistan football to new heights by leveraging my international relations at FIFA, AFC, and Member Associations level. My goal is to use my experience and networks to bring a significant number of international projects and bilateral collaborations that will help Pakistan football rise from the ashes and reach a respectable standing, first at the Asian level and eventually on the global stage.”

He emphasized that establishing strong partnerships with countries like Japan, known for their robust footballing infrastructure and expertise, will be crucial in achieving this vision. Gilani also expressed his commitment to promoting youth programs, women’s participation, and coaching excellence, which he sees as pillars for sustainable growth in Pakistani football.

The PFF president reiterated that international collaboration and knowledge exchange will be instrumental in transforming Pakistan football, providing both players and coaches with opportunities to develop their skills and compete at higher levels.

This engagement reflects Gilani’s proactive approach to reviving and professionalizing football in Pakistan, signaling a new era of strategic partnerships and international cooperation aimed at restoring Pakistan’s position on the Asian and global football map.
