
Lahore police will deploy over 6,000 officers to ensure security on Christmas. The plan covers 622 churches and major public areas. Punjab police say full attention will be given to Christian citizens’ safety.
Lahore CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana said the deployment will include 12 SPs, 36 SDPOs, 109 SHOs, and 311 other officers. Teams from PRU, Dolphin Squad, Elite Force, and special units will also perform duties. Officers will patrol churches, parks, and recreational spots.

The 622 churches have been divided into A, B, C, and D categories. Security is strongest for 59 A-category and 84 B-category churches. Meanwhile, 378 C-category and 101 D-category churches will also remain under police protection.
CCTV cameras, metal detectors, and walk-through gates will be installed at churches. Female officers will be deployed to ensure the safety of women and children. Police will closely monitor all large gatherings during Christmas events.
