
Pakistan and Bangladesh have agreed to strengthen cooperation on tax dispute resolution and taxpayer facilitation. The agreement aims to support trade and investment between the two countries. Officials said it will help create a fair and transparent tax environment.
The understanding was reached during a meeting in Islamabad. A delegation from Bangladesh’s National Board of Revenue met Pakistan’s Federal Tax Ombudsman. The talks focused on improving institutional coordination and tax administration.

Federal Tax Ombudsman Zafar-ul-Haq Hijazi welcomed the delegation and stressed long-term cooperation. He shared the vision and priorities of the FTO institution. He highlighted accountability, efficiency, and quick resolution of taxpayer complaints.
Advisor Customs Dr Arslan Subuctageen gave a detailed briefing on the FTO framework. He explained its mandate, procedures, and performance indicators. He emphasized transparency and improved taxpayer services.

Both sides discussed future collaboration and exchange of best practices. They agreed to work jointly on tax dispute mechanisms. Officials said the cooperation will promote confidence among investors and traders.
