NAB chief distributes cheques among victims in Suzuki Sialkot Motors Case

Chairman, National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lt. Gen. (R) Nazir Ahmed, visited NAB Lahore and presided over a special cheque distribution ceremony for affectees of the Suzuki Sialkot Motors case, involving cheating of the public at large. During the ceremony, an amount of Rs. 186.188 million was distributed among 136 claimants under the supervision of Mirza Faran Baig DG NAB Lahore.

The recovered amount was obtained through the plea bargain mechanism, reflecting NAB’s effective accountability framework for recovery of looted public money. At present, 50 percent of the recovered amount has been distributed among the verified claimants, while the remaining 50 percent will be disbursed shortly, following completion of procedural formalities.

While addressing the ceremony, the worthy Chairman NAB reiterated NAB’s firm commitment to ensuring swift recovery and transparent disbursement of funds to victims of financial crimes. He directed the concerned officers to expedite the remaining recovery and disbursement process in all cases pertaining to cheating of the public at large, so that justice may be delivered without delay.

Chairman NAB also sought comprehensive progress reports on ongoing investigations, emphasizing the importance of identifying challenges faced by affectees and ensuring timely restitution of recovered amounts. He reaffirmed NAB’s resolve to uphold accountability, transparency and public trust through proactive and victim-centered approaches.

In line with the vision of Chairman NAB, Director General NAB Lahore Mr. Mirza Faran Baig, highlighted the commendable performance of NAB Lahore. He informed that during the year 2025, more than 6000 complaints were received, out of which 98 percent were successfully resolved. Furthermore, NAB Lahore has so far redressed the grievances of around 21000 affectees, which reflects the Bureau’s effective enforcement and recovery efforts.

DG NAB Lahore also reaffirmed the Bureau’s zero-tolerance policy against individuals involved in defrauding the public and emphasized NAB Lahore’s continued focus on transparency, efficiency and public facilitation. Participants at the ceremony appreciated the proactive measures undertaken by NAB Lahore under the leadership of Chairman NAB.
