Farrhana explained that she remained calm throughout the situation and stood by her choice. According to her, many reactions inside the house felt exaggerated and driven by the desire to appear sympathetic on screen.
“I was calm, everyone else was overacting too much,” Farrhana said, adding that she never felt triggered because she believed her decision was justified within the rules of the task.
The controversy unfolded when housemates were given the opportunity to read letters from their families, depending entirely on their fellow contestants’ choices. Shredding another contestant’s letter guaranteed a spot in the captaincy race.
While most participants chose to forgo captaincy and allowed others to read their letters, Farrhana made a bold move by shredding Neelam Giri’s letter. The decision left Neelam visibly upset and in tears, prompting strong criticism from other housemates.
The incident quickly became one of the season’s most talked-about moments, with viewers divided over whether Farrhana’s action was strategic or insensitive. Many contestants accused her of lacking empathy despite following the task’s rules.
