TRON founder Justin Sun explores Islamabad in local rickshaw

ISLAMABAD: Justin Sun, founder of the TRON blockchain network and cryptocurrency billionaire, turned heads during his visit to Islamabad when a video surfaced of him inspecting and riding a local rickshaw. The visit was at the invitation of the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC).

Sun shared the clip on social media, captioning it: “In Pakistan, a rickshaw is not just a ride; for many drivers it supports the whole family.” The video shows Sun learning the basics of maneuvering the iconic three-wheeled vehicle, jokingly noting, “Time was short, so I only mastered one thing: the brakes!”

Sun praised rickshaw drivers for their hard work, calling the vehicles “like the city’s capillaries, connecting people to daily life and keeping everything moving.” He thanked Pakistani social media personality Momin Saqib for helping him onto the rickshaw during the experience.

The crypto entrepreneur also documented his broader trip in a vlog, covering his arrival at Islamabad International Airport, meetings at the Ministry of Finance, and interactions with key government officials. Sun described the visit as “a complete success” and expressed gratitude to the Pakistani government for the invitation.

The trip comes as Pakistan seeks to boost its cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem, with high-profile visits like Sun’s highlighting the growing global attention on the country’s digital finance ambitions.
