According to the NDMA spokesperson, cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Sheikhupura are likely to experience heightened smog levels. The alert also extends to Rawalpindi, Islamabad, various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.
The NDMA warned that traffic flow could be affected in several cities due to poor visibility caused by the smog. Precautionary measures are being implemented to minimize risks and ensure public safety.
Health authorities have advised that prolonged exposure to smog can trigger respiratory illnesses, especially among children, the elderly, and individuals with pre-existing health conditions. Residents are encouraged to limit outdoor activities during peak smog hours and use masks or air purifiers where possible.
Officials emphasized the importance of monitoring weather and air quality updates, as the situation may evolve over the next few days. Authorities have also coordinated with local agencies to respond promptly to emergencies and reduce potential hazards.
