Khawaja Asif announces fresh legal action against Faiz Hameed

Published on: December 13, 2025 1:07 PM

SIALKOT: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said on Friday that further legal action will be taken against Faiz Hameed, the officer in charge of the “remove Nawaz, bring founder” project, calling him a key architect behind political conspiracies.

Speaking at a press conference in Sialkot, Khawaja Asif said Faiz Hameed was already tried for 15 months and sentenced. He added that Hameed is no longer a general and has been stripped of his military title, emphasizing the seriousness of his alleged misconduct.

He claimed that recent events are unprecedented in the country’s political history. The project to bring the PTI founder to power began 10–12 years ago and was executed under Faiz Hameed’s leadership, according to Asif.

Khawaja Asif alleged that Faiz Hameed and the PTI founder conspired to destabilize Pakistan. During their rule, political opponents were imprisoned, threatened, or otherwise suppressed on Hameed’s orders, and key decisions were made from the founder’s residence with Hameed’s guidance.

He further stated that Faiz Hameed strengthened the founder’s four-year tenure, coordinated major national decisions, and played a central role behind the May 9 incidents. Hameed also allegedly benefited from top positions, including the Top City case, and reportedly turned the ISI into his subordinate agency to consolidate power.
