Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been moved to a ventilator after her health worsened. She is being treated at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka due to severe complications. Doctors say her condition remains critical, with multiple organ concerns and serious infections.
Khaleda Zia was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis on November 27, requiring intensive care. She is receiving antibiotics and antifungal therapy to combat a severe infection. Her kidneys have failed, necessitating regular dialysis, while other health issues continue to escalate rapidly.

Professor Dr. Shahab Uddin Talukdar stated Zia faces severe breathing difficulties, low oxygen levels, and elevated carbon dioxide. Initially, she received high-flow nasal cannula support, but worsening symptoms led doctors to place her on a ventilator. This measure helps her lungs and vital organs rest.
Since returning from treatment in London in May, Khaleda Zia has been under continuous medical supervision at Evercare Hospital. Her family, including Tarique Rahman and Zubaida Rahman, remain closely involved and regularly updated on her condition. Medical teams have urged the public not to spread rumors due to her fragile health.
