
As 2025 comes to an end, global travel data reveals a strong resurgence in tourism, with Bangkok emerging as the world’s most-visited city. Euromonitor International’s annual analysis shows that Asian destinations dominated international arrivals this year, reflecting major shifts in traveler preferences and regional tourism strength.
Bangkok secured the top position after welcoming an impressive 30.3 million international visitors, driven by its rich nightlife, diverse food culture and expanding hospitality sector. Although the Thai capital did not enter the top ten of Euromonitor’s overall global city index, it ranked first for tourism strategy and appeal, strengthening its position as a global travel powerhouse.

Hong Kong followed in second place with around 23.2 million arrivals, nearly tripling its population and demonstrating its enduring popularity. Additionally, the city claimed the 17th spot in the overall global city ranking, finishing just above London, which secured third place with approximately 22.7 million visitors and remained Europe’s most visited city in 2025.
Moreover, Paris continued to shine globally after being named the world’s best city overall, even though it placed ninth in the arrivals ranking with 18.3 million visitors. Meanwhile, other high-performing destinations such as Macao, Istanbul, Dubai and Mecca also featured prominently, highlighting a diverse mix of travel motivations ranging from leisure and shopping to religious tourism.

Overall, the top ten list for 2025 reflected a strong return to international mobility, with Asian and Middle Eastern cities experiencing significant boosts. The year’s rankings demonstrate how cultural vibrancy, improved infrastructure and rising global connectivity continue to reshape worldwide travel trends and influence tourist choices.
