The Lahore Arts Council held an introductory meeting today in honour of its newly appointed Executive Director, Muhammad Nawaz Gondal, marking a significant moment of institutional alignment, renewed direction and collective commitment toward cultural advancement.
The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a comprehensive briefing on Alhamra’s mandate, strategic functions and artistic vision. AD Admin Syed Umair Hassan gave a comprehensive presentation covering Alhamra’s departments, ongoing projects, academic and training initiatives, public service framework and long-term artistic objectives. The briefing highlighted Alhamra’s pivotal role as the cultural nucleus of Punjab, serving as a platform for literature, performing arts, heritage promotion and creative expression.
Addressing the officers, Executive Director Alhamra Muhammad Nawaz Gondal expressed his appreciation for the institution’s longstanding role in nurturing literature, arts and cultural exchange in Punjab. He stated, “Alhamra is one of Pakistan’s most respected cultural institutions and it is an honour to contribute to its next chapter. Together, we will introduce new initiatives that enhance creativity, strengthen administration and expand Alhamra’s impact across Lahore and beyond. My priority is to build on the organisation’s existing strengths while opening fresh avenues for cultural growth and public service.” The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to continue advancing Alhamra’s legacy through innovation, teamwork and a forward-looking cultural vision.
