Published on: December 11, 2025 2:16 AM

On the directives of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, open kacheris are being held across the province to resolve public issues at their doorstep and improve the performance of government departments. In this connection, Sindh Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho held an open kacheri at the Circuit House Hyderabad.

Hyderabad Mayor Kashif Ali Shoro, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zain-ul-Abideen Memon, SSP Hyderabad Adeel Chandio, DG Health Sindh, District Health Officer Pir Ghulam Hussain, MS Civil Hospital Hyderabad Dr Irshad Kazmi , along with officers from the departments of Health, Education, Excise, HESCO, Public Health, Local Government, Highways, Buildings, Irrigation, WASA, Sui Gas, and Information, were present on the occasion. A large number of citizens from across Hyderabad district attended and conveyed their complaints to the provincial minister.

While listening to various complaints, the minister said that the Sindh government is taking serious steps to resolve public issues at their doorstep. She informed participants that a plan has been finalized for establishing SIUT centers at every divisional headquarters, and that Hyderabad will soon have its own SIUT facility. She added that efforts are underway to upgrade healthcare services in the city, improve the burns ward of Civil Hospital, and provide training to staff, while enhancing facilities at taluka hospitals will help reduce the burden on Civil Hospital.

Speaking about development in the city, Dr. Pechuho said that the Sindh government is also focusing on the upgradation of Niaz Stadium, parks, and the establishment of sports grounds to promote better recreational opportunities for youth. Addressing complaints regarding katchi abadis, she said the relevant authority will be approached to resolve these issues, as “Roti, Kapra aur Makan” is a fundamental part of the PPP manifesto. Regarding grievances related to Sui Gas and HESCO, the minister advised citizens to submit written complaints to the office of the Mayor of Hyderabad so that they may be forwarded to the federal departments concerned. She further said that nearly 50 percent work on the Ring Road project has been completed and the remaining work would be expedited.

Dr Pechuho informed attendees that a new 32-inch diameter water pipeline is being laid to improve water supply in Kohsar Hyderabad, which will help overcome the shortage. On the issue of a liquor shop opening on Auto Bhan Road, she said that the matter has already been raised in the Sindh Assembly and that the Excise Department will take action. She also stated that a special committee has been formed in the Sindh Assembly to address complaints related to HESCO.

The minister added that if Bilawal Bhutto Zardari becomes Prime Minister, issues concerning federal institutions will also be resolved more swiftly. Most complaints raised at the open kacheri pertained to HESCO and Sui Gas, while citizens also highlighted problems related to inadequate medical facilities, shortage of furniture in schools, encroachments, sanitation and drainage issues, broken water pipelines, construction of new parks, road repairs, and the maintenance of filter plants. The provincial minister ordered immediate action on several complaints and instructed officers of the concerned departments to resolve the remaining issues promptly and submit reports.
