Published on: December 11, 2025 1:43 AM

PSRM (Pvt.) Limited and K-Electric have entered into an agreement under which a dedicated distribution system comprising a 132 kV grid station and transmission line will be built at Gharo. The project will ensure reliable and efficient power supply of 15MW supporting the growth in operations of the local steel industry. The new grid station is aimed at enhancing power resilience, improving operational efficiency, and supporting future electrification for the steel sector aligning with the companies’ shared commitment to sustainability, reliability, and innovation. Reinforcing KE’s mission to drive sustainable industrial growth through dependable, high-quality power solutions, the partnership will cater to the growing energy demand of the steel sector and increasing supply of local steel products. Sadia Dada, Chief Distribution & Marcomms Officer at KE, said, “Every industry has unique operational needs, and a forward approach is when customers invest in their own grid infrastructure – built to their specific standards and future requirements. It allows us to deliver power that’s efficient, stable, and truly fit for purpose. We whole heartedly commend PSRM for investing in their growth and are humbled to partner with them on this journey of progress.” Muhammad Mustafa, CEO PSRM (Pvt.) Ltd, said, “Steel is one of Pakistan’s most vital industries and reliable energy is the backbone of its continued growth. This partnership with KE to install a dedicated grid station enables us to strengthen our energy resilience and develop a flourishing local steel industry.” The dedicated infrastructure will support PSRM’s growing production needs by ensuring a stable and uninterrupted power supply essential for continuous steel manufacturing. As a major contributor to Pakistan’s industrial output, PSRM depends on reliable energy to maintain efficiency, meet rising market demand, and sustain its operational expansion. By powering critical sectors such as steel, construction, and manufacturing, KE continues to reinforce the country’s industrial backbone, ensuring that dependable, high-quality electricity remains central to national growth and productivity.
