PMDC Launches National Digital Training for College Inspections

Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) launched a PMDC training program to modernize inspections of medical and dental colleges nationwide. The pilot aims to improve regulatory efficiency, transparency, and compliance in education. The initiative introduces digital inspection technologies for standardized evaluations. The program builds a national pool of trained inspectors. The PMDC training ensures consistent quality checks across all medical and dental institutions.

PMDC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj inaugurated the three-day training. He called it a major step toward stronger inspection standards. The program integrates digital tools to modernize accreditation procedures. Dr. Taj praised Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal for his guidance and support. Participants learned to apply digital inspection methods effectively.

The program gathered master trainers and inspectors from across Pakistan. Hands-on learning included demonstrations of Digit-Inspect, the country’s first digital inspection platform. Trainees also studied the updated Inspector Guide. This ensures inspectors can assess compliance accurately and maintain transparency. Trainers will now lead regional capacity-building sessions across provinces.

Sixty participants attended the training, representing Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ICT, and Armed Forces. The wide representation ensures national-level inclusivity and harmonization. Master trainers will continue future sessions in their regions. The program creates a sustainable system of trained inspectors for ongoing oversight. This strengthens regulatory monitoring in all medical and dental colleges.
