
A severe cold wave has tightened its grip over several districts of Balochistan as temperatures plunged below freezing, the latest weather advisory revealed. The Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a 24-hour forecast warning of dry and extremely cold conditions in northern areas.
Cloudy weather is likely in Quetta and surrounding north-western districts over the next day. Moreover, light rainfall and snowfall on nearby hills may occur in locations including Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah and Qila Saifullah, increasing the intensity of the cold spell.

Early Saturday saw biting cold across multiple regions, with the minimum temperature in Quetta dropping to 0°C. Additionally, Kalat and Ziarat recorded –2°C, while Zhob reported 3°C, Sibi 9°C, Turbat 14°C, Nokundi 9°C and Chaman 4°C during morning hours.
Meanwhile, coastal districts experienced mild weather compared to northern areas. Gwadar recorded a minimum of 18°C, whereas Jiwani stood at 12°C, demonstrating a sharp contrast across different zones of the province.

Authorities have advised residents to take protective measures as temperatures are expected to remain low, especially at night. They urged people to wear warm clothing and ensure extra care for elderly citizens and children in high-altitude areas.
