India bowl out South Africa for 270 despite De Kock ton

Published on: December 6, 2025 5:47 PM

India bowled out South Africa for 270 in the third and deciding ODI in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. Quinton de Kock scored a sparkling 106 off 89 balls, but India’s bowlers struck regularly to secure the win. KL Rahul broke India’s 20-match ODI toss losing streak and put South Africa in to bat.

De Kock added 113 runs with skipper Temba Bavuma, who made 48, raising hopes of a big total. However, India’s Kuldeep Yadav (4-41) and Prasidh Krishna (4 wickets) dismantled the South African batting lineup in 47.5 overs. Dewald Brevis (29) and Marco Jansen (17) briefly resisted before Kuldeep dismissed both in quick succession.

Krishna struck twice in one over, including dismissing Matthew Breetzke and Aiden Markram, before removing De Kock soon after his hundred. De Kock hit eight fours and six sixes, including a six off Harshit Rana to complete his seventh ODI ton against India.

Earlier, Arshdeep Singh dismissed Ryan Rickelton for a duck, giving India an early advantage. Despite De Kock and Bavuma’s attack, India maintained control through disciplined bowling and key breakthroughs. Keshav Maharaj remained unbeaten on 20 as the innings closed.

The series has been high scoring, with South Africa falling 17 runs short of India’s 349 in the first ODI and chasing 359 in the second. India’s bowlers now hold the upper hand in the decider, showing resilience after conceding big totals in the opening matches.
