
President Sadyr Zhaparov of Kyrgyzstan will visit Pakistan on Wednesday at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The Foreign Office said the trip is the first presidential visit from Kyrgyzstan since 2005. It added that the visit reflects long-standing ties built on shared history, faith, and regional aspirations.
The FO said the visit will boost cooperation and strengthen coordination at regional and global forums. President Zhaparov will arrive with a high-level delegation of ministers, senior officials, and business leaders. He is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari before holding delegation-level talks with the prime minister.

Both sides will review the full range of bilateral ties and explore new areas of cooperation. They will discuss trade, energy, defence, education, people-to-people exchanges, and regional connectivity. The Kyrgyz leader will also address the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum.
Sources said Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the energy sector. Ministers from both countries will sign the pact to enhance collaboration in the power sector. The agreement aims to support future projects and deepen energy partnerships.

The federal cabinet earlier approved the energy MoU through circulation on November 29, 2025. It endorsed the proposal submitted by the Power Division. The approval cleared the way for stronger bilateral engagement and upcoming energy cooperation.
