Pakistan has expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people and demanded the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and all occupied Palestinian territories. It stressed that Israel must be held accountable for war crimes and acts of genocide.
Since the start of Israeli aggression in Gaza on 7 October 2023, tens of thousands of Palestinians have been killed. Entire neighbourhoods, towns, hospitals, schools, and essential infrastructure have been reduced to rubble. A ceasefire was implemented on 10 October 2025 after international efforts, yet Israel continues to carry out intermittent attacks.
On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed on 29 November, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari issued separate messages reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.
President Zardari paid tribute to the Palestinians and stated that Pakistan’s support for them has been part of its very identity. He noted that even before Pakistan’s creation, a clause in the 1940 Lahore Resolution expressed solidarity with the Palestinians and supported their right to a state.

Both the Prime Minister and the President highlighted the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza and called for a permanent ceasefire, uninterrupted humanitarian aid, protection of civilians, and full accountability for the crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed that the ceasefire must be upheld. He said Israel must stop all violations and ensure the free flow of humanitarian assistance. He called the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and all occupied Palestinian lands essential. He also warned that global attention must not shift away from the serious situation in the West Bank.
He added that the continued expansion of illegal Israeli settlements is a blatant violation of international law and a major obstacle to peace.
Meanwhile, President Zardari prayed for an end to the suffering of Palestinians and expressed his wish to one day offer prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque alongside his Palestinian brothers.
