Secretary Information and College Education, Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon, visited the ongoing development projects at Arts & Commerce College Larkana, Degree Boys College Larkafna, and Nusrat Girls Degree College. During the visit, he expressed serious displeasure over the poor quality and delays in the construction work, stating that such negligence was adversely affecting the educational process.
The Secretary noted that several schemes were facing a shortage of funds, for which a meeting with the Chairman Planning & Development would be held to secure the required allocations. He also expressed concern that although funds were provided for repairing college buildings damaged during the 2022 rains, they were not utilized properly.
Mr Memon inspected ongoing classes in the colleges and directed the management to ensure student attendance. He further instructed Director Colleges Larkana, Altaf Ahmed Abro, to make libraries and computer labs fully functional, issue books to students, and collect reviews from them after reading, emphasizing that such practices promote a strong reading culture.
During the visit, the Secretary also listened to issues related to lecturers’ promotions and other administrative matters and issued necessary instructions.
Director Colleges Altaf Ahmed Abro, Director Information Larkana Irshad Ali Chandio, Superintending Engineer Syed Maqsood Shah, Assistant Engineer Ahsan Bhatti, and Deputy Secretary College Education accompanied him during the visit.
Later, Secretary Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon offered condolences to GTV program Khari Baat anchor Hameed Bhutto on the sudden passing of his young brother, Saleem Bhutto, and prayed for the departed soul.
