The scrutiny of nomination papers has been completed, and candidates have been notified that Nov 28 is the final date for filing appeals with the appellate tribunal. These appeals apply to cases where returning officers have either accepted or rejected nomination papers. Officials emphasised that the appeals window is crucial for ensuring transparency and fairness ahead of polling day.

Quetta district comprises four town municipal corporations — Zarghoon, Chiltan, Sariab and Takatu. Together, they include 172 union councils (UCs) and 641 wards, making the upcoming elections one of the most extensive local government exercises in the region. A total of 3,150 nomination papers were submitted, of which 2,710 were approved and 440 rejected. Among the contenders, 33 women candidates have also filed to participate.
