A high-level committee of the Sindh government convened an important meeting to review and finalize security, transport, and administrative arrangements for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 35th National Games 2025.

The meeting was jointly chaired by Sindh Minister for Sports Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, Minister for Education Syed Sardar Ali Shah, and Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab. Senior officials present included Secretary Sports Munawar Ali Mahesar, Secretary Information & Colleges Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon, Secretary School Education Zahid Ali Abbasi, DG Culture Habibullah Memon, DG Information Moiz Ahmed Pirzada, Director Sports Asad Ishaq, Additional Secretary Transport, Chief Engineer Muhammad Aslam Mahar, and Sindh Olympic Association’s Ahmed Ali Rajput.

Officials provided comprehensive briefings on security protocols, traffic management plans, stadium arrangements, guest facilitation, and interdepartmental coordination for the National Games. Special coordination cells and committees have been established to ensure seamless communication among all departments, and provincial ministers were briefed on their respective roles and responsibilities.

Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar emphasized that no individual will be allowed entry into the opening or closing ceremonies without an authorized pass. He instructed strict adherence to timelines, directing all guests and athletes to reach the National Stadium Karachi by 2:00 PM, while the opening ceremony is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM, with President Asif Ali Zardari as the chief guest.

He reiterated that the Sindh government, as the host, is fully committed to delivering a successful and well-organized National Games, adding that all departments must work collectively to uphold the province’s reputation. Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah noted that schools would be actively engaged to encourage maximum youth participation. He stated that the games will serve as an ideal platform to promote athletics, nurture sports culture, and inspire young people across Sindh. He also directed focal persons from all departments to maintain continuous coordination with the Sports Department.

Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab informed the meeting that KMC will deploy fire brigade units to ensure safety and emergency response readiness throughout the event. He added that promotional content for the National Games is being disseminated across all KMC social media platforms, and a dedicated area has been allocated for KMC staff and support teams at the venue. Secretary Sports Munawar Ali Mahesar briefed the committee that necessary measures have been taken to prevent any disruption in security, transport, or stage management during the ceremonies. All VIPs will receive QR code-based invitation passes to enhance access control and streamline verification.

Secretary Information Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon assured complete media coverage of the National Games across electronic and print platforms. DG Culture Habibullah Memon said that athletes and guests arriving from other provinces will be welcomed at railway stations and designated entry points, reflecting Sindh’s hospitality. According to officials of the Sindh Transport Department, women athletes will be transported via dedicated pink buses to the National Stadium. Sindh Olympic Association’s Ahmed Ali Rajput added that all concerned individuals will receive transportation services according to the official schedule to ensure smooth and timely movement.
