The Lahore Arts Council is set to present its inaugural three-day Alhamra Sufi Festival, a distinguished cultural initiative, from November 28-30.
The festival will open with a major exhibition featuring Sufi painting, calligraphy and multidimensional artworks that illuminate the spiritual depth and artistic eloquence of Sufism.
A comprehensive review meeting regarding the festival’s preparations was held at Alhamra, presided over by ED Alhamra Mahboob Alam. The meeting finalized all planning details and assigned responsibilities to ensure seamless coordination and an exceptional cultural experience for the public. The festival reflects Alhamra’s dedication to safeguarding and promoting the spiritual heritage that has shaped the region’s cultural identity for centuries.
The Alhamra Sufi Festival will feature qawwali, Sufi music and a special theatrical production inspired by classical Sufi thought and tradition. Intellectual sessions and reflective discussions on Sufi philosophy will be a central element of the festival, offering audiences an opportunity to explore the transformative ideas at the heart of Sufi teachings. To foster a stronger culture of reading, curated book stalls dedicated to Sufism will be an integral part of the event. Workshops, cultural performances and food stalls will further enrich the festival environment.
Chairman Alhamra Razi Ahmed said, “The Alhamra Sufi Festival is a tribute to the spiritual heartbeat of our culture, celebrating the wisdom that unites humanity in love and humility. Alhamra proudly carries this timeless legacy forward, creating a space where art becomes a pathway to inner peace.”
Executive Director Alhamra Mahboob Alam said, “Sufism embodies the purest expression of compassion, humility and spiritual enlightenment. It has guided generations toward inner peace and a deeper understanding of the human experience. Through the Alhamra Sufi Festival, we aim to reconnect our people with this timeless message of love and unity that transcends all boundaries. Alhamra continues to honour our spiritual legacy by creating meaningful platforms where art, intellect and heritage converge with purpose and grace.”
The Lahore Arts Council warmly invites the public to join this remarkable celebration, embracing the enduring spirit of Sufism through art, poetry, thought and collective cultural expression.
