
Pakistan Apni Party Chairman Makhdoom Muhammad Ehsan Qureshi met OPF Managing Director Muhammad Afzal Bhatti in Brussels. The meeting focused on key issues faced by overseas Pakistanis. It also discussed solutions and future cooperation for their welfare.
Qureshi praised Bhatti for his dedication to overseas Pakistanis and highlighted his compassionate approach. He said Bhatti played a major role in giving overseas Pakistanis confidence and respect. Moreover, he noted that OPF’s recent MoUs with special courts improved access to justice. He added that these steps boosted trust in Pakistani institutions and encouraged investment.
Bhatti said his vision was inspired by former Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He explained that the Punjab Overseas Commission helped him gain the experience needed to rebuild trust. Furthermore, he stated that he is now working to strengthen OPF as an effective national body. He stressed that overseas Pakistanis remain a major national asset.
Bhatti announced that annual Overseas Conventions will now be held in Islamabad on the direction of the Prime Minister and the Army Chief. He said these events will include families, seniors, women, and youth. Additionally, he shared plans for cultural and educational initiatives to connect young overseas Pakistanis with their roots. He also highlighted the Overseas Court in Punjab as a major initiative of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Bhatti urged overseas Pakistanis to visit and invest in Pakistan to support national growth. He assured them of full guidance and support from OPF. Lastly, he said his doors remain open for overseas Pakistanis at all times.
