ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Thursday visited Adiala Jail to meet former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan but was denied access for the seventh time. Afridi expressed disappointment over the repeated refusals despite orders from the Islamabad High Court allowing the meeting.

Speaking to the media, Afridi called the situation “unfortunate” and revealed that he has written to the Chief Justice seeking intervention, but has yet to receive any response. He stressed that the denial of access undermines the court’s directives and raises concerns over procedural compliance at the jail.
When asked about the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) taking notice of his recent statement, Afridi clarified that he had only remarked that rigging would not be allowed in upcoming by-elections. He claimed his statement was misrepresented and taken out of context.
