
Russia has offered to mediate in the long-standing disputes between Pakistan and India, as well as Pakistan and Afghanistan. Speaking in Islamabad, the Russian ambassador said that Moscow is ready to support peace efforts between these neighboring countries. He explained that these regional conflict mediation by Russia efforts aim to reduce tensions and promote stability in South Asia.
The ambassador, Albert Khorev, made the remarks during an event at the Institute of Strategic Studies. He said Russia is deeply concerned about the security situation in the region, especially the ongoing instability in Afghanistan. According to him, peace cannot be restored without dialogue and cooperation among all regional players.

He added that tensions in South Asia often rise because of the involvement of external powers. Russia, he said, supports all steps that encourage regional peace, prevent terrorism, and help countries work together. Moscow also backs long-term plans for social and economic development across the region.
Khorev emphasized that Russia considers Pakistan an important regional partner. Under President Vladimir Putin’s Greater Eurasian Partnership vision, Pakistan plays a key role in regional connectivity and future cooperation. Russia believes that stronger ties can help all countries in the region achieve more stability.

The ambassador also stressed that, according to President Putin’s vision, regional problems should be solved by regional countries themselves. He said this is why Moscow is willing to help if all sides agree to sit at the table. He expressed hope that these regional conflict mediation by Russia efforts will open the door for meaningful dialogue and long-term peace.
