
Pakistan is set to generate more than 95,000 jobs over the next five to seven years, the Ministry of Planning said. The employment surge will come from major development projects across multiple sectors. Officials said these initiatives aim to boost national growth and provide opportunities for citizens.
The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved 12 projects in October 2025 alone, covering energy, water, agriculture, health, education, and governance. Six more major projects have been sent to ECNEC for final approval. The Ministry expects 2,501 immediate jobs from these projects.

The government has released Rs330 billion from the Rs1,000 billion Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) within the first four months of the fiscal year. Over Rs134 billion has already been spent across different sectors, showing rapid progress on national development plans.
Sector-wise spending shows mixed progress: infrastructure saw Rs46 billion used, transport Rs25.93 billion, energy Rs2.54 billion, water Rs12.95 billion, and housing Rs4.69 billion. Meanwhile, education spent Rs8.97 billion, health just Rs140 million, and science and technology Rs1.69 billion. Governance used Rs650 million of its Rs11.17 billion allocation.

Officials said foreign-funded projects also progressed, with Rs6.3 billion spent from Rs25 billion allocated. The Ministry emphasized that these investments will create jobs, strengthen infrastructure, and improve social services across Pakistan. Citizens can expect a significant rise in employment opportunities in the coming years.
