Kahna police unable to trace woman disappeared six years ago

Published on: November 12, 2025 12:59 AM

The case of the abduction/kidnapping of a woman registered six years ago in Kahna, a suburb of Lahore, is becoming a challenge for the police with each passing day. The team formed under the command of DIG Investigation Lahore, Syed Zeeshan Raza, is continuing to investigate from different angles.

According to details shared with Daily Times, a reward of Rs 500,000 was also announced for Fauzia Bibi’s recovery. In search of the woman, the Lahore police have also combed the Kachha areas of the Indus riverbeds, and 180 posters have been pasted in those areas.

The police also contacted many dominant persons or local leadership in the Kachha area, and also scrutinised Punjab prisons to find Fauzia Bibi, but no clue was found anywhere.

NADRA also failed to make any progress in tracing the woman. Polygraphic tests of 15 people and data of 673 cell numbers were also obtained, and a complete investigation of 102 numbers out of 673 proved futile.

A number from Shangla, Swat, was found suspicious, but the police team’s visit to Swat was not fruitful, and they could not find any success there either. The police also received an anonymous letter from Okara. Even after a complete investigation, Fauzia Bibi could not be found. Around 73 people were once again included in the investigation in the case of Fauzia Bibi, who has neither an identity card nor a mobile phone. Finding clues has become a challenge for the police.

Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Alia Neelam has also taken notice of the case. The case will be heard again in the High Court on November 20. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar and other top police officials have appeared in court several times and informed the Chief Justice Lahore High Court about the progress regarding the case.

Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Justice Alia Neelam, has ordered the early recovery of the woman, Fauzia Bibi.
